Sheathed WPC – the next level of WPC
WPC with sheathing is an innovative development. The boards consist of 60% wood components, 35% thermoplastics and 5% material-retaining additives. To make the WPC boards more resistant, the manufacturers additionally coat them with a mixture of 70 percent plastic and 30 percent wood. The exact proportions of wood and plastic in the mixture depend on the manufacturer and can vary. The plastic coating makes the boards more resistant to moisture, dirt, grease and decay caused by fungal attack. Thanks to the plastic coating, the material absorbs less moisture and therefore hardly expands and does not contract. The plastic layer of the 4-sided coated WPC decking boards makes them less sensitive to staining.

The high plastic content in these decking boards ensures good UV resistance. This means that colour changes due to weathering are less pronounced. Please note that electrostatic charging is caused by the material and cannot be completely ruled out, as is the case with normal WPC decking boards.
